The City of Lawrenceville mailed a cross-connection survey to its water customers in a state-mandated program to reduce the risk of contamination by any sources of backflow. The survey searches for any source of non-potable liquid, solid or gas that could contaminate the water supply.
The one-page survey will take roughly 5 minutes to complete, asking questions such as if the property has a swimming pool, hot tub, greenhouse, fire sprinkler system or other sources of any possible contamination. The 15-question survey serves as a valuable tool in protecting residents from backflow issues. The Water Department office mailed a survey to every customer and requests the completed form is returned by June 30, 2026 by bringing the survey to City Hall, placing it in the water payment drop box at the front or back door or by mailing it to Water Department, 700 State Street, Lawrenceville, IL 62439.
