Lawrenceville Illinois City Streets Department Snow Plow

Street Department

The City of Lawrenceville Street department is responsible for all streets and alleys within the city limits. The Department also handles the maintenance of the city storm sewer system. In the winter months, Street Department personnel lead the way in clearing snow from the roads.

Storm Damage

The Street Department is tasked with picking up limbs downed from storms. The crew usually picks up brush on Friday. Otherwise, Lawrenceville residents are asked to place all yard debris in the blue totes provided by Republic Services.

Bulk Trash

The City of Lawrenceville has contracted with Republic Services for hauling bulk trash, i.e., items that won’t fit into the blue totes supplied by Republic. Typically, this is old furniture. Call City Hall at 618-943-2116 to schedule a bulk pick up with Republic Services. Bulk items are hauled on Thursday, and the deadline to register is 11 a.m. Tuesday. The costs for hauling items:

  • Televisions ($25) and tires ($5 apiece) may be taken to Street Department, 1500 Third Street, AFTER payment has been made through City Hall
  • The City of Lawrenceville and Republic don’t accept freezers, refrigerators or other large appliances
  • Deadline is 5 p.m. Monday for Thursday pickup

Notice
